RENT WITH CARE

A little caution.
A better beginning.

Practical steps before a visit, a payment or a rental agreement.

See the space first

Arrange a visit, check the property’s condition and confirm that its photos, location and amenities match the listing. Take a trusted person with you where possible and tell someone where you’re going.

Verify who you’re dealing with

RentZero does not verify identities, ownership or property titles. Confirm the other party’s identity and authority to offer the property before agreeing to rent. A visit request being accepted is not a verification badge.

Pause before paying

RentZero does not collect booking fees, rent or deposits in the app. Be cautious about urgent demands for money before a visit, unusual payment instructions, or requests for passwords and one-time codes. Verify the recipient and keep a record of any payment.

Put the details in writing

Agree on rent, deposit, utilities, furnishing, maintenance, notice periods and move-in dates. Read the agreement and seek appropriate local advice if anything is unclear.

Share only what is needed

A visit request shares your name, phone number and message with the owner. Do not place passwords, financial details or identity documents in listing photos or messages.

Report something that feels wrong

Report a listing or user with the title or property ID and a description of the problem. If you suspect fraud, keep the relevant messages and transaction records. For immediate danger, use local emergency services.
